As part of our commitment to employee well-being, NHS Scotland is transitioning to a reduced full-time working week of 37 hours, effective from April 2024, without a change in remuneration. This adjustment will also apply proportionately to part-time employees. Please note that while this new working schedule will be implemented, certain service areas may require temporary adjustments, necessitating up to an additional 30 minutes of work per week until full compliance is achieved.

The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will involve the daily preparation of fresh sandwiches for patients. This role will be situated within the Cook Freeze Production Unit (CFPU), where the individual will contribute to the team’s efforts in meeting daily productivity goals while maintaining the highest standards of service and hygiene.

Additionally, the post holder may be tasked with various duties across the CFPU, working collaboratively within one of four core teams: Production, Hygiene, Portioning, Packing & Freezing, and Goods In/Issue. The role will involve rotation among these teams, with a focus on one designated area for daily activities. Responsibilities will also include basic food preparation and assisting with meal component selection and packing related to unit requirements.
