Job Duties
- Administer vaccinations to 20 to 25 schoolchildren per hour during the flu season.
- Collaborate effectively to support the team, organization, and stakeholders, ensuring seamless service delivery.
- Advocate for and assist in the operation of our School Immunization Program.
- Provide support to Program Managers, Team Leaders, and Clinical Leads as necessary.
- Travel to various sites as required.
- Deliver a competent, evidence-based level of care to patients.
- Engage in clinical supervision and contribute to the performance and development of staff.
- Ensure all clinical incidents, near misses, and complaints are documented, monitored, and addressed in accordance with organizational policies.
- Participate in audits, offering recommendations based on findings and sharing outcomes with the team for collective learning.
- Attend clinical supervision sessions with the Clinical Lead as directed.
- Actively contribute to team meetings.
- Conduct Gillick Competency Assessments and obtain verbal consent from parents and guardians.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Candidate Profile
Required Experience
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Familiarity with the National Immunization Schedule.
- Knowledge of and adherence to informed consent principles.
- Proficient in computer usage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Customer service orientation and people management skills.
- Assertive, collaborative team player with critical thinking capabilities.
Essential Qualifications
- Registered Pharmacists with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Registered Paramedics and Physiotherapists with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Registered Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists with the General Dental Council (GDC).
- Registered Optometrists with the General Optical Council (GOC).
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Experience working within Patient Group Directions (PGD).
- Understanding of the National Immunization Schedule.
- Knowledge of informed consent principles.
- Current immunization training or willingness to undertake training.
- Proficient in computer skills.
- Understanding of immunization schedules in line with national guidelines, including cold chain management, ordering, and transport arrangements.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Customer service and people management skills.
- Assertive, collaborative team player with critical thinking skills.
- Valid driving license (desirable).
