Conisbrough, Doncaster, United Kingdom NATIONAL ENERGY ACTION Full time £32,601 - £37,304

About Us

We are National Energy Action (NEA), dedicated to eradicating fuel poverty. Our initiatives to enhance and advocate for energy efficiency yield significant social, environmental, housing, and employment advantages.

We firmly believe that every individual should have the means to maintain a warm and secure home. Unfortunately, many households across the UK are currently deprived of this due to low incomes, exorbitant energy costs, and inadequate energy efficiency.

We take pride in our expertise and the quality of service we provide to our clients.

Project Overview

NEA has recently obtained funding to launch a pioneering project aimed at assisting local communities in lowering their heating expenses, fostering healthier living environments, and preparing for the transition to net zero.

Over the course of two years, we will establish a local energy hub in three distinct areas, each staffed by two dedicated professionals who will work to build trust, offer guidance, and empower community members to embrace and benefit from change.

Role Responsibilities

The Energy Efficiency Coordinator will be instrumental in the development of new local retrofit hubs. This role involves:

  • Conducting research to understand the local demographics, housing conditions, existing networks, and strategies.
  • Identifying gaps in service provision.
  • Building local capacity with installers and supply chains to facilitate energy retrofit measures.
  • Coordinating and delivering community advice and events to raise awareness of retrofit practices and technologies.

Exceptional customer service will be central to all community interactions.

The Coordinator will collaborate with various NEA departments to share insights and support the advancement of other project components.

Additionally, they will be tasked with identifying local and regional funding opportunities and assisting NEA's Fundraising and Partnerships team in proposal development as needed.

Qualifications

The Energy Efficiency Coordinator role is situated within the Directorate of Homes and will report to the Community Retrofit Project Manager. Candidates should possess:

  • Experience in energy retrofit, community development, or housing sectors.
  • Strong communication skills and an understanding of the energy needs of low-income, vulnerable, or disadvantaged households.
  • A genuine desire to positively impact people's lives.

Benefits

We offer a competitive benefits package, including:

  • 11.5% non-contributory pension.
  • Approximately 25 days of annual leave, plus 3 additional days during the Christmas and New Year period, along with all public holidays for full-time staff (pro-rata for part-time staff).
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
