This role is ideal for an optometrist who seeks to move away from the retail side of optometry and concentrate on delivering exceptional clinical care to NHS ophthalmology patients. You will be providing support across various SpaMedica facilities along the South Coast, stepping in when resident optometrists are unavailable.
This is a full-time opportunity, requiring commitment for five days each week, with two of those weeks including a Saturday in lieu of a weekday. There may be instances where overnight stays are necessary based on geographic requirements (hotel accommodations will be provided, including breakfast and evening meals). A company vehicle will also be available for your use.

Key Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include conducting pre- and post-operative assessments for patients undergoing NHS cataract surgery. This will involve planning and obtaining consent for such procedures, and with additional training, performing YAG laser anterior capsulotomies.
What We Are Seeking
The ideal candidate will be a qualified optometrist with current GOC registration. Previous experience as a hospital optometrist is advantageous but not mandatory, as comprehensive training will be provided.
We are looking for a well-organized professional who has demonstrated capability and experience in their current position. The ability to work independently under pressure, coupled with strong organizational skills, is essential. Excellent communication skills are necessary to effectively engage with both patients and colleagues, along with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with a diverse range of individuals. A self-motivated individual with a desire for professional development is highly valued.
