Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist/Research Nurse to join our Transformation Unit as a Bariatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual to make a significant contribution to the delivery of high-quality care to patients with obesity-related health issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and support to ward staff and learners in the delivery of high-quality care, ensuring that patients receive the best possible outcomes.
  • Attend Bariatric clinics, providing education and support to patients and their significant others in the management of their care, in line with national recommendations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of guidelines and pathways, ensuring that care is delivered in accordance with best practice.
Requirements
  • Nurse degree or equivalent in experience
  • Teaching qualification
  • Vast experience of working within the Surgical division
  • Knowledge and awareness of diseases and complexities in health relating to obesity
  • Experience of mentoring and developing staff
  • Knowledge and awareness of the Bariatric service
  • Experience of undertaking nurse-led clinics
  • Knowledge of the national and local NHS healthcare agenda for the obese patient
  • Evidence of management and leadership skills
