Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Landscape Manager to join our team at Fresh Horticultural Careers. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing all costs from project handover to completion and agreement of the final account.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Commencement Phase
    • Review contract particulars with the pre-construction team to ensure full understanding of costs, contract terms, and site conditions.
    • Liaise with clients and principal contractors to agree valuation dates and record variations.
    • Coordinate with the operations and contracts manager to agree and let packages of works in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Construction Phase
    • Ensure full awareness of the scope of works, contract programme, and quality of work expected.
    • Monitor and review contract progress to ensure delivery of works in accordance with the programme, at the quality required, and for the cost allowed.
    • Identify deviations from the company's offer and review these with the team.
  • Completion Phase
    • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with the specification and contract variations instructed through the contract period.
    • Collate and submit final accounts for approval.
    • Undertake an internal review of the company's performance on site against programme, cost, and quality.
  • General Items
    • Undertake work in accordance with ISO systems and procedures.
    • Represent the company with professionalism and display behavioural characteristics in line with company culture and values.
Requirements
  • Preferred: Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
  • Experience of working as a construction project surveyor or similar.
  • Experience of working in a construction environment.
  • Experience of working for a main contractor or building contractor.
  • Experience of working on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Experience of working with ISO management systems (desirable).
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of technicalities involved in working on a podium roof contract and ability to read architectural drawings.
  • Knowledge of technicalities in managing/reading a programme under a principal contractor.
  • Knowledge of technicalities involved in delivering design and build contracts and working with association stakeholders.
  • Understanding of all on-site health and safety requirements and responsibilities pertaining to the delivery of contracted works and their management and delivery.
  • Knowledge of relevant construction contracts and their application to the role and company in delivery of the contracted works.
  • Ability to organise the proper internal administration of projects and effectively operate a good management system.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good people skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of the team.
  • High quality and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to think and act creatively and innovatively to meet the needs of the business.
  • Ability to develop systems and processes to manage and deliver required objectives.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
