Job Summary:
The Nursery Chef is responsible for managing all aspects of the nursery kitchen to the highest standards, ensuring a healthy and balanced diet for all children. This role requires strong organizational and culinary skills, with a focus on food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and prepare meals for children, ensuring a varied and interesting diet that meets their nutritional needs.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and appearance, adhering to environmental health and safety guidelines.
- Order and manage food supplies, adhering to budget constraints and ensuring correct storage and rotation.
- Coordinate the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring that all children's dietary needs are met.
- Monitor and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the Nursery Manager to ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Strong culinary skills and experience in a kitchen environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene procedures.
