Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Vice President - Financial Markets at Bank of China. As a key member of our Financial Markets department, you will be responsible for implementing the banking book bond investment and bond issuance strategy set up by our Head Office and local Assets and Liability Committee (ALCO).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Bond Investment Strategy: Work closely with our Head Office and local ALCO to develop and implement a comprehensive bond investment strategy that aligns with our business objectives.
- Provide Stable Funding: Support our Treasury Markets business in providing stable funding for business development and ensure the liquidity safety of our financial assets.
- RMB Funding Specialist: Act as a RMB funding specialist to promote RMB business and build up wide channels with counterparties, monitoring onshore and offshore RMB market movements.
- Build Relationships: Build proactive working relationships with our Head Office, external counterparties, and internal stakeholders to drive business growth and development.
- Market Analysis: Closely monitor macro and micro economies, identify market opportunities, and deliver up-to-date business plans to drive business growth.
- Transaction Data Analysis: Responsible for transaction data analysis and ongoing system upgrade, conducting regular business analysis and reporting as required in English and/or Chinese.
- Training and Development: Assist with training of coverage teams, new staff, and interns to ensure knowledge sharing and skill development.
Requirements
- Education: Degree educated in Banking or Finance or equivalent.
- Professional Qualifications: Relevant professional qualification as required (i.e. PRA/FCA Registered Exams) or exemptions, or willingness to undertake relevant qualification.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in similar banking background.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of Financial Markets products and regulatory compliance.
- Skills: Good problem-solving skills and capacity to work under pressure, desire to drive projects from ideation or assignment to execution, excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills in both English and Mandarin.
