Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the Nuclear business. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in decommissioning redundant nuclear facilities, supporting the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, and aiding the operation and build of nuclear power plants.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of a highly skilled team that tackles major defence, decommissioning, new build, and nuclear generation projects. We have won over 78% of our latest tenders and are innovating to make nuclear safer, faster, and cost-effective across the nuclear energy life cycle.
Day to day, you could be:
- Designing cutting-edge mechanical systems
- Leading on project delivery and management
- Providing solutions to our clients and stakeholders
Your responsibilities will include:
- Promoting effective collaboration across Engineering and other functional teams
- Assisting in effective management of the customer by interfacing with customers and supply chain on design issues and assisting with procurement specifications
- Ensuring procedures, codes, and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities
- Contributing to the Product Safety Assessment process
- Providing a technical interface with internal and external stakeholders at a detailed level
- Carrying out technical investigations and analysis to provide data for problem assessment/resolution and for design improvements
- Contributing to process improvement within the operational and/or design lifecycle to deliver continuous improvements in quality, cycle time, and asset utilisation
- Applying engineering domain knowledge to produce technical solutions and documentation in support of assigned tasks and projects
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering, or equivalent experience.
