About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Developer to join our site services team at bet365. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing our Android Sports Native App, working closely with our award-winning website.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex feature-rich applications for the Android platform.
  • Maintain and improve existing systems, ensuring high-quality delivery through the Google Play Store.
  • Collaborate with the team throughout the Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Lead and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Work with a large and ever-expanding Kotlin codebase, enhancing our Sports App through feature development, issue resolution, and performance improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of our in-house framework, ensuring seamless integration with our Sports App.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Android technologies, libraries, and APIs, applying this knowledge to improve our app's performance and user experience.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in writing code using Kotlin or Java in Android Studio.
  • Proven working experience with modern Android libraries and APIs.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
  • Experience with unit testing, including testing frameworks such as Espresso.
  • Understanding of advanced source control concepts and tooling.
  • Knowledge of web technologies, Chrome Web Inspector, or Android WebView APIs.
  • Solid understanding of the full mobile development lifecycle.
  • Ability to debug and address memory and performance issues.
  • Previous experience in a senior role providing mentorship is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills.
