About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at MRR Infrastructure Limited. As a key member of our Civil and Structural Section, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions for our clients in the electricity transmission and distribution sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of civil and structural engineering projects, working closely with our clients and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Develop and implement engineering design management best practices, ensuring compliance with relevant UK Health & Safety legislation and industry standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, promoting a culture of safety, innovation, and excellence within the team.
  • Collaborate with other sections within the UK T&D Engineering Team to deliver multi-disciplinary projects and drive an optimal engineering function.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners, promoting our company's values and expertise.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) from an accredited institution.
  • Professional registration as a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council, preferred.
  • Membership of a relevant professional Engineering Institution (e.g. ICE).
  • Relevant Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH Cert./Dip., NVQ Level 3 in H&S related subject).
  • Minimum of 7 years of civil and structural engineering design experience, with at least 5 years of experience in the electricity transmission & distribution sector.
  • Advanced knowledge in civil and structural engineering related design, calculations, and design systems.
  • Understanding of the requirements of relevant UK Health & Safety legislation relating to design and construction work in the electricity supply industry.
Desirable
  • Membership of a professional Health & Safety organisation (e.g. APS, ISC, IOSH etc.).
  • Experience fulfilling the role of Contractor Design Approval Engineer (CDAE) and per National Grid's TP137.
  • Substation safety and access training (e.g. NSI 30, BESC:AIM etc.).
  • Formal training in CDM 2015, Temporary Works, and Impressed Voltages.
