About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team at GKN Aerospace. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical wire harnesses and installation systems for our aircraft and engine products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop 3D models of electrical wire harnesses and installation systems using CatiaV5 software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions meet customer requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Perform quality reviews of design data sets prior to formal release.
  • Support Fokker Elmo's Manufacturing Engineering team on site as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, preferably Aerospace Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in EWIS installation design and 3D modeling of electrical wire harnesses using CatiaV5.
  • Experience in performing quality reviews of design data sets prior to formal release.
  • Ability to work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • GKN Aerospace experience.
  • Familiarity with Airworthiness Regulations and DOA (Part 21J) principles.
  • Experience with design tools CatiaV5 (electrical workbench) and Enovia.
  • Understanding of configuration management principles.
  • Strong written and verbal command of the English language.
