Job Title: Teacher of Physical Education

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Physical Education to join our dynamic and innovative department at a secondary school in Folkestone.

About the Role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching PE to students in Years 7 to 11, including GCSE PE in Years 10 and 11. They will also be expected to plan and prepare courses and lessons, contribute to the work of the department by writing, reviewing and updating schemes of work, and take responsibility for the creation of resources for particular parts of the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching PE to students in Years 7 to 11
  • Teaching GCSE PE in Years 10 and 11
  • Planning and preparing courses and lessons
  • Contributing to the work of the department
  • Creating resources for the curriculum
  • Taking responsibility for students' health and safety
  • Assessing, recording and reporting on student progress
Requirements:

We are looking for a good honours graduate with a qualification to teach PE at KS3 and KS4, successful experience of teaching PE in a comprehensive school, and experience of teaching GCSE PE. The ideal candidate will also have an understanding of current curriculum issues in PE education, experience of teaching a range of activities, and the ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
