Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Principal Ecologist to join our team in Gateshead. As a key member of our community, you will be responsible for leading and contributing to various projects, applying your expertise in field surveys, assessments, and reporting while guiding clients through the planning and licensing processes.

• Lead Phase 1 habitat/UKHab assessments and conduct protected species surveys
• Manage projects efficiently, ensuring timely delivery, financial oversight, and clear communication of recommendations
• Develop fee proposals and maintain high-quality standards

• Degree or equivalent qualification in ecology
• Protected species licence (ideally Level 2 bat licence)
