Approx 18 hours per week. We are seeking a dedicated Care Assistant for maternity cover and a casual position to support a young client.
Our client is a 14-year-old individual who resides with their family. They enjoy engaging in various activities, spending quality time with loved ones, and listening to music.This client has specific medical conditions, including cerebral palsy and epilepsy; they have a PEG in place and communicate through sounds and facial expressions; they attend a specialized educational institution.
The client has intricate care and medical requirements; they are a wheelchair user and rely entirely on others for all aspects of their care.
As a Care Assistant, you will have the chance to assist the client in implementing therapies, participating in activities, and performing all personal care tasks.
The client requires continuous support, so you will collaborate with a home care team to promote their independence, deliver the highest standard of care, and ensure all their needs are fulfilled.
The family has a small pet dog. Previous experience working with a young individual with complex care needs is essential.Applicants must possess a full driving license and will be required to operate the client's automatic adapted vehicle. Smoking or vaping is not permitted while working with the client.
Hours of Work:
The maternity cover role is expected to last between 6 to 12 months.
Working 18 hours per week, covering both day and night shifts on a rotating schedule from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM, as well as after school during term time from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
The casual Care Assistant position will be on an as-needed basis to cover staff absences and holidays, with potential shifts covering 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM, as well as after school during term time from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
