Senior Psychiatric Consultant

Key Responsibilities:
- Assume comprehensive responsibility for the development of patient care strategies in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in morning handover meetings with the senior management team.
- Evaluate incoming referrals to assess their appropriateness for admission.
- Conduct necessary assessments, diagnostics, and therapeutic interventions.
- Engage in ward rounds, clinical audits, and initiatives aimed at quality enhancement.
- Facilitate and oversee Care Programme Approach (CPA) reviews.
- Spearhead the execution of risk assessment and management protocols.
- Contribute to clinical governance and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with external organizations.
- Draft and supervise various documentation, including reports for Mental Health Act tribunals and managerial assessments, and represent the organization at hearings.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) or equivalent qualification.
- Registration on the Specialty Register for Forensic Psychiatry or General Psychiatry, with relevant forensic experience.
- Proven ability to lead and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
- Current Continuing Professional Development (CPD) standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists, including a recent appraisal.
- Approved for AC and Section duties.
