Job Title: Band 6 Outreach Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Outreach Nurse Specialist to join our Therapeutic Apheresis Services team at NHS Blood and Transplant. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting lifesaving treatments for patients across the region.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Perform therapeutic apheresis and cell collection procedures in paediatrics and adults.
  • Plan and deliver nursing care for patients/donors, providing advice and support as necessary.
  • Work within a total quality management system approach to maintain nursing practice standards and ensure best practice and clinical effectiveness.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with key stakeholders to support patient-centred care and quality and safety.
  • Provide clinical support and supervision to less experienced staff and student nurses.
  • Travel and spend time away from base, working irregular hours and overnight stays when required.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration (RN1 or RNA).
  • Post-registration experience and a degree in a clinical area.
  • NMC professional registration (which must be maintained in the role).
  • Awareness of current issues in nursing.
  • Valid driving licence, allowing you to drive in the UK.
  • Commitment to own continued professional development (CPD).
