About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teacher of the Deaf to join our team at Wirral Borough Council. As a key member of our Sensory Service, you will play a vital role in ensuring that deaf children reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach deaf students in a peripatetic setting, using British Sign Language as a primary means of communication.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of deaf pupils.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide a comprehensive education service for deaf children.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to deaf education.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status of the Deaf (QTSd) or equivalent.
  • British Sign Language qualification up to Level 3.
  • Experience of teaching deaf students in a primary school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
