Our client, a leading masonry contractor, is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their team. As a Design Manager, you will play a crucial role in the development of their projects, ensuring that design information is of the highest quality and meets the client's requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the design process, utilizing contractual awareness and technical expertise to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their design requirements and provide expert advice on design-related matters.
  • Act as a focal point for all design-related issues, from pre-construction to project completion.
  • Ensure that design information is accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
  • Identify and mitigate health and safety risks during construction.
  • Stay up-to-date with current legislation, standards, and codes of practice, and ensure that the design process reflects these requirements.
  • Liaise with design consultants, statutory bodies, subcontractors, and client teams to ensure seamless project delivery.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Design Management or Design Coordination, preferably in the masonry industry.
  • CAD proficiency and experience working with design software.
  • HND/Degree level in a construction-related subject is preferred.
  • Main contractor experience working within masonry is essential.
  • Detailed understanding of construction methods, health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage all aspects of the design process.
  • Knowledge of current building regulations and industry standards.
