Job Title: Graduate Process Safety Engineer

As a Graduate Process Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient identification and progress of all Process Safety Management (PSM) issues and actions. You will also assist in all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) operations, supporting the HSE Department and contributing to the improvement of HSE performance and related activities on site.

The company operates under COMAH regulations and is a global leader in the production of specialist chemicals. To maintain its market position, the company has ambitious expansion and investment strategies over the next 5-10 years, and this role will play a key part in delivering and facilitating these plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expertise on PSM risk assessments, including HAZOP, LOPA, MOC, ATEX/DSEAR, and OBRA
  • Lead and support other members of the SHE team in carrying out assessments
  • Drive action completion following assessments
  • Carry out basic consequence analysis using e.g., consequence analysis
  • Provide full basis of support package for any new major accident scenarios identified and review and update existing bases
  • Drive risk assessment reviews at the required frequency
  • Coach other chemical engineers in the assessment methodologies
  • Oversee and check the application of PSM elements during project design and development
  • Provide technical support for incident investigations

To be successful in this role, you will require a minimum of 5+ years' experience working in a similar PSE role, ideally within chemical manufacturing operations. We are interested in speaking with anyone who holds experience working as a Process Safety Engineer or in a PSM role.
