About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Surveyor to join our Corporate Surveying Team at NFU Mutual. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing an extensive UK-wide property portfolio, ensuring that our sites meet business, contractual, and statutory requirements.

As an in-house Building Surveyor, you will oversee the management, development, and maintenance of our property portfolio of approximately 300 buildings. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure that our sites are equipped to meet the needs of all our employees and the NFU Mutual Agency Network across the UK.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing an extensive UK-wide property portfolio
  • Hybrid working – 30% homeworking, 70% on-site and multi-site visits
  • Company car or allowance + up to 17.5% bonus + 20% Contributory pension scheme

About You

We are looking for a Building Surveyor with a strong understanding of building construction, building regulations, and construction processes. You will have a Chartered membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and be a confident and competent user of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Key requirements include:

  • Strong knowledge of building issues within commercial, office, and retail environments
  • Experience of managing refurbishments within commercial premises
  • Experience of delivering Planned Maintenance programmes and national contracts
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers and third-party suppliers
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and statutory requirements
  • Full UK Driving Licence
