Job Title: Head Chef - Maternity Cover - 12 Month Fixed Term

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our team at Hallmark Luxury Care Homes. As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading our culinary team and delivering high-quality meals to our residents. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, providing maternity cover.

About the Role:

As a Head Chef, you will have the opportunity to work with fresh seasonal food and create menus that cater to the dietary needs of our residents. You will be responsible for managing a team of culinary professionals, ensuring that they are motivated and inspired to deliver exceptional service. You will also be responsible for managing budgets, completing regular audits, and maintaining high standards of food quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Menu Development: Create menus that cater to the dietary needs of our residents and ensure person-centred hospitality.
  • Culinary Excellence: Work with fresh produce to create high-quality and wholesome dishes that meet our residents' dietary needs.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, inspire, and develop a team of culinary professionals.
  • Budget Management: Work within budget constraints while maintaining high standards of food quality.
  • Audits and Stock Control: Complete regular audits and manage stock control to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Personable and Warm: You have a genuine interest in the well-being of our residents and create a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Qualifications: Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualifications in culinary arts.
  • Leadership Experience: Experience in leading, motivating, and inspiring a culinary team.
  • Nutrition Knowledge: A good understanding of nutrition and dietary requirements.
  • Culinary Skills: Experience working with fresh seasonal food and creating appetising and nutritious menus.
  • HACCP: Good understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles.
