Quality Assurance Manager
£50,000 - £70,000 (dependent on experience) + bonus & excellent benefits

About the Role

A remarkable opportunity has emerged for a Quality Assurance Manager at a pioneering product development firm based in Cambridge, renowned for its innovative technology that is transforming the medical, life sciences, and research industries.

The Quality Assurance Manager will play a crucial role within the management team, concentrating on the formulation and execution of quality protocols and methodologies in this rapidly expanding and successful small-scale electro-mechanical instrumentation manufacturing organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all facets of the quality department and its Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Enhance and refine processes across various departments, from incoming goods through production, quality assurance, and product dispatch.
  • Manage all quality-related documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs), along with conducting internal and external audits to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, clients, and suppliers to guarantee the delivery of superior product quality throughout the organization.
  • Act as a primary advocate for quality processes, instilling a culture of continuous improvement across the company.
  • Utilize both technical and commercial expertise to serve as the quality authority on-site.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
  • Hands-on Experience: Practical experience in quality processes within manufacturing and service environments.
  • Relevant Experience: Recent experience in a senior quality position (e.g., Quality Manager, Deputy Quality Manager, Senior Quality Engineer) within a medical device manufacturing context.
  • Quality Management Systems: Extensive knowledge of Quality Management Systems and medical device standards, particularly ISO.
  • Advanced Quality Skills: Proficiency in methodologies such as PPAP, FMEA, CAPA, continuous improvement, problem-solving, 5S, and Risk Assessment.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, with experience in technical writing and formal quality documentation.
  • Audit Management: Experience in managing customer audits and conducting supplier audits, both on-site and remotely.
