About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Engineer to join our data team at Jet2. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, well-modelled, clean, and trustworthy data assets for use across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with data and analytics engineers, data scientists, and data visualisation specialists to assess the appropriate level of testing for each piece of work.
  • Plan, execute, and document testing carried out to ensure maximum benefit realisation and return on investment.
  • Guide the test effort within your team to ensure that work is completed to time and quality goals.
  • Work with our Test Leads and Test Manager to continually improve our data test practices and processes.
  • Mentor more junior colleagues, helping them develop their technical and non-technical skills and supporting their progression.
Requirements
  • Prior mentoring experience or willingness to develop skills in this area to support the growth of our data testing practice.
  • Expertise across all parts of the testing process, including test planning, estimation, execution, defect management, reporting, and escalation, ideally in a data-related team.
  • Test certification such as ISTQB highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced Agile delivery environment with a focus on rapid delivery of business value through iterative development and testing approaches.
  • Skilled in the use of SQL and comfortable writing complex queries and working with large, complex datasets within a data-rich environment.
