About the Role

Rotherham Hospice is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Housekeeper to join our team. As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

Our ideal candidate will have previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and office spaces according to established protocols and schedules.
  • Collecting, sorting, and laundering linens, towels, and bedding, ensuring they are clean, well-maintained, and properly stored for use by patients and staff.
  • Disposing of waste and recyclable materials in accordance with waste management policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with special cleaning projects, deep cleaning tasks, and seasonal cleaning activities as needed.
  • Operating and maintaining cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, steamers, and other tools.

Person Specification

Rotherham Hospice provides exceptional care for all those affected by terminal illness. We are the only adult hospice in Rotherham for the people of Rotherham and surrounding villages. Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers work together to provide palliative care that incorporates psychological, physical, social, and spiritual support to help patients and their families achieve the very best quality of life, both at home and in the Hospice.
