Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Sales Ledger/Credit Control Clerk to join our client's Accounts Team on a maternity contract for 12 months. This is a hands-on role with plenty of interaction with other team members and management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of the sales ledgers, processing sales invoices and credit notes promptly and accurately.
  • Monitor and chase outstanding invoices and ensure timely payments from customers.
  • Allocate and post customer receipts (in sterling, Euros and US dollar) to relevant invoices.
  • Investigate chargebacks and underpayments with card processing companies.
  • Post and reconcile card receipts by card type and e-commerce receipts in multiple currencies daily from bank statements to the relevant accounts.
  • Close all three sales ledgers to the new accounting period at the end of each month.
  • Month end reporting, allocation and reconciliation.
  • Statement generation and issuing customer statements.
  • Assist with filing and banking cheques.
  • Provide assistance with ad-hoc projects as required.
Requirements:
  • A team player with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, high levels of accuracy, and a disciplined and structured approach to their work.
  • Proficient with MS Office (particularly Excel) as well as knowledge of retail or manufacturing software.
  • Experience of working within an owner-managed business would be an advantage.
Benefits:
  • £24,000 - £27,500 per annum (depending on experience)
  • 24 days holiday per annum plus statutory days (generally taken in line with company holidays)

  • Working hours 8.30am -5.00pm Mon-Fri with 1 hour lunchbreak, with flexibility for 30 mins lunchbreak also.
