Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Tower Hamlets, East London. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to promote inclusive practices, assist with academic tasks, and support students' social and emotional development. You will be responsible for establishing a warm and supportive relationship with pupils, demonstrating good practice in regard to SEN and inclusion, and working in partnership with parents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish a positive and supportive relationship with pupils to support their learning and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to provide individualized support to students with SEN.
  • Assist with academic tasks and support students' social and emotional development.
  • Work in partnership with parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
  • Promote inclusive practices and support the development of a positive and inclusive school culture.
Requirements:
  • GCSE Maths and English Language qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent.
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS and the right to work in the UK.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with students with SEMH and ASD.
