Position Overview

Lime Talent is collaborating with a distinguished, employee-owned food enterprise on a Key Account Manager position. This organization provides significant UK retailers, food service, and manufacturing clients with primarily Own Label as well as Branded ambient products.

The Key Account Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing sales across both new and established accounts. This position entails cultivating and sustaining robust customer relationships, offering a pathway to develop a credible and enduring career within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and nurturing strong connections with customer representatives across various departments, including Sales, Supply Chain, Technical, Product Development, and Merchandising.
  • Partnering with the internal Procurement team on both new and ongoing business, consistently evaluating the market for purchasing opportunities for your clients.
  • Leading the project management of new product development (NPD) alongside any modifications to existing products.
  • Proactively overseeing customer inventory levels in collaboration with the internal Supply Chain team.
  • Cooperating with the Category Insight Manager and Marketing Manager to create top-tier customer presentations, leveraging IRI and internal data.
  • Managing and reporting on sales and contract balances.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a 2.1 degree or higher in a relevant business discipline.

Experience:

  • Preferably, at least 1 year of sales experience within the commercial retail sector (or relevant internship for graduates).
  • Strong preference for a background in the food industry, although other FMCG products will be taken into account.
  • Prior experience working with or managing UK retailers is advantageous.

Required Competencies:

  • Demonstrated ability to secure new business.
  • Hands-on account management with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to influence and negotiate with confidence.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong presentation capabilities.
