About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Prospero Teaching. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs, ensuring they receive the tailored assistance they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of personalized learning activities for students with SEN.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social and emotional development.
  • Assist with classroom management and the organization of learning resources.
  • Support students during transitions and unstructured times, such as lunch and break periods.
  • Attend relevant training and professional development sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in SEN support.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support is desirable but not essential.
