Grid Connection Operations Lead

H9 Technical Recruitment is seeking a skilled professional for the role of Grid Connections Manager, focusing on the oversight of grid integration for renewable energy and hydrogen initiatives across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proven experience in managing grid connections at both distribution and transmission levels.
- In-depth understanding of relevant development and planning procedures.
- Preparation and submission of grid connection applications, including BELLA/BEGA submissions when necessary, for renewable generation sites such as wind and solar, as well as hydrogen facilities.
- Negotiating modifications to existing applications to facilitate the co-location of hydrogen, battery storage, and renewable generation technologies.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET).
- Overseeing compliance and obligations related to grid connections for all projects.
- Contributing to strategic planning for identifying and securing new sites based on grid capacity considerations.
- Conducting preliminary assessments and managing feasibility studies for potential projects.
- Engaging in project design and development activities.
- Managing financial aspects related to grid connection projects.
- Providing regular updates on budget status, project milestones, and liabilities to both project teams and executive leadership.
Qualifications:
- A degree or higher education in a relevant field.
- Direct experience with projects in the UK.
