About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Occupational Health Clinic Nurse to join our team. As a Band 5 nurse, you will be responsible for providing clinical services to our clients, including health surveillance, immunisations, and paper screening. You will also be required to undertake administrative duties and work closely with our Occupational Health Advisors.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake health surveillance for external clients in a peripatetic role
- Conduct pre-placement paper screening and face-to-face pre-placement screening, providing advice on clearance
- Perform individual client assessments and carry out clinical tasks, including venipuncture, vaccinations, and BCG scar checks, in line with specified protocols
- Undertake statutory and non-statutory health surveillance, including lung function testing, vision screening, and urinalysis
- Assist Occupational Health Advisors in maintaining and ordering vaccinations and clinical stock, with a good working relationship with the pharmacy and stores departments
- Provide an emergency response service for incidents such as sharps and needlestick injuries and other immediate health issues
- NMC Registration
- At least 6 months NHS experience in the last 3 years
- Previous OH experience
- Robust clinical knowledge, strong initiative, and a proactive approach to work
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Honesty and integrity, and a caring patient-centred approach
