Job Title: Academic Director

We are seeking a highly experienced and accomplished Academic Director to lead our team at the Drug Safety Research Unit (DSRU). The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and operational direction across our range of activities, including pharmacovigilance, pharmacoepidemiology, risk management, and risk minimisation.

About the DSRU

The DSRU is a leading provider of education and training in pharmacovigilance and pharmacoepidemiology, with a strong reputation for conducting high-quality research and studies. Our team is dedicated to understanding the safety, use, and risk-benefit balance of medicines and vaccines using real-world data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality research and studies.
  • Develop and implement operational plans to achieve the unit's objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance the unit's research and education agenda.
  • Ensure the unit's research and education activities are aligned with the latest scientific evidence and best practices.
  • Lead the development of research proposals and funding applications.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly experienced and accomplished individual with a strong track record in pharmacovigilance, pharmacoepidemiology, and research leadership. The successful candidate will have:

Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., pharmacology, epidemiology, public health).Significant experience in research leadership and management.Strong knowledge of pharmacovigilance and pharmacoepidemiology principles and practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
