Job Summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Paediatric Endocrine Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Endocrine Service, you will be responsible for providing specialist endocrine care to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, improve, and promote the Endocrine Service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective care.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
  • Act as a resource for patients and families, providing education and support to ensure an optimum level of service.
  • Work closely with community and hospital staff to ensure seamless care and coordination.
  • Ensure patients and families are aware of all treatment options, including clinical trials.
  • Advocate for patients and families, negotiating the patient journey and ensuring optimum care is provided.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years post-qualifying experience in a relevant area.
  • Masters-level specialist training is preferred or a willingness to work towards this.
  • Flexibility with working days and hours, with varying shifts and potential for early starts or late finishes.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
