About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Knowledge and Insight Officer to join our policy team at Diabetes UK. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in managing our data and insight function, providing statistics and insight about diabetes, NHS services, and public health that underpins our evidence for influencing Government and the NHS through partnerships, media, and campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the knowledge and insight function in the policy team, including data collection and management, statistical analysis, and interpretation of national and regional data related to diabetes care in the UK.
  • Develop and commission quantitative and qualitative research on diabetes care and insight from people with diabetes.
  • Provide expert advice on appropriate data collection methods and research design to inform policy priorities and organisational activities.
  • Work with teams across Diabetes UK and with various partners externally to provide data and insight that supports our strategic priorities.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the NHS, public health, and health services relating to people with long-term conditions, such as diabetes.
  • Ability to generate insight and knowledge, and to communicate evidence and data effectively and in a timely way to a range of audiences.
  • Experience of applying quantitative and qualitative research methods and analytical skills in the health/charity environment.
  • Project management and line management skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and under your own initiative, sometimes to tight deadlines.
