Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Colour and Materials Designer to join our team at Contechs. As a key member of our design department, you will be responsible for leading the development of colour and materials strategies for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Colour and Materials Leadership: Lead the development of colour and materials strategies for our clients, ensuring alignment with business objectives and design principles.
  • Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of colour and materials designers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Design Research: Conduct research on market trends, lifestyles, design, and social trends to inform colour and materials decisions.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Collaborate with suppliers to develop materials that meet client production specifications.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with designers, function groups, marketing, and purchasing teams to ensure proposals meet required standards.
  • Representation: Represent the design team at technical and senior meetings as required.
  • Design Excellence: Design breathtaking products that tell the visual story of their function.
Requirements
  • Education: University degree in Art and Design or equivalent.
  • Experience: Extensive experience as a colour and materials designer, with a proven track record of delivering colour and materials for programs from G0 to G4.
  • Leadership: Excellent experience leading and coaching high-performance teams, with a high level of self-motivation, people skills, initiative, flexibility, and determination.
  • Skills: Solid OEM experience working in a design department of an automotive company, highly creative with excellent colour vision, colour harmony, and an intuitive understanding of perceived value and craftsmanship.
  • Technical Skills: High level of competence in using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office, with strong project planning and management skills.
