About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding field of nursing that requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. As a SACT nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, as well as documenting and reporting to the multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and develop general and specialist knowledge of nursing practice relevant to the clinical area.
  • Be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Accurately document and report to other members of the nursing team, multidisciplinary team, and family/carers regarding the care given to patients.
  • Respond to emergency situations with composure, maintaining patient safety and seeking immediate support.
  • Identify and discuss patient needs with the team/staff, patients, carers, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate a problem-solving approach to effectively execute planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized plans of care based on a person-centered model of care.
  • Communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to patients, carers, and other staff.
  • Maintain patient dignity and confidentiality at all times.
Person Specification

We are looking for a registered nurse with a UK recognized degree in nursing relevant to the post. Post-graduate qualifications related to an area of practice are desirable. The ideal candidate will have articulate and knowledgeable skills needed to deliver a high standard of care in the area of practice.

They will be able to document observations, results, decisions, and actions effectively in patient's notes and communicate these effectively to appropriate members of the multidisciplinary team. Competence to administer intravenous medicines is also desirable.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to maintain and contribute to the development of standards of practice, conduct, or decision making in conjunction with their line manager. They will act as a role model and lead by example to ensure the Trust's values and behaviors are reinforced throughout their area of practice.
