Job Description

Morson Talent is seeking a skilled Category Manager to join our team in a partnership with a leading aerospace organization. This is a 6-month contract opportunity with a hybrid working arrangement, offering a balance between time spent on-site in Cambridge and remote work.

Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Category Manager to develop and implement a global category sourcing strategy, ensuring the highest levels of supplier performance in terms of cost, quality, and delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with the Growth/Business Development and Product Development teams to identify opportunities and challenges in the supply market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor key industry and category cost and risk drivers to inform key bids and projects.
  • Develop and maintain a global category sourcing strategy to support current and future opportunities.
  • Continuously assess potential new suppliers for key categories to deliver better performance and reduce supply risk.
  • Support Mark versus Buy decision making and lead annual cost reduction planning and initiatives.
  • Work closely with Bid Procurement Managers to ensure the latest pricing from agreed price lists with key suppliers is included in all relevant bids.
Requirements
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and strong negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial cost modeling.
  • CIPS certification and degree qualification in business are desirable.
