About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead to join our Data Platform team at Quilter plc. As a Technical Lead, you will play a key role in shaping the future roadmap of our Data Platform and driving the development of innovative data solutions.

As a hands-on developer, you will be responsible for building out framework enhancements to optimize the Data Platform for current and future usage. You will also help shape how we grow our Data Engineering service, providing mentorship to new engineers and collaborating with the Product Owner to produce testable, maintainable, and high-quality data solutions.

In this role, you will support the migration of existing legacy solutions onto our strategic data platform and contribute to the adoption of a standard data solution methodology across the organization. You will also input into backlog prioritization by providing technical background knowledge and technical risk assessment to be included alongside business priorities.

Our ideal candidate will have extensive and demonstrable technical knowledge in key areas such as Azure Data Services, Spark, and Python, Data Pipelines, and DevOps. You will work with the Technology Product Owner to manage task assignments and risk escalation, with a focus on quality, collaboration, and teamwork.

We are looking for a candidate who can lead with an agile approach and embrace change to successfully deliver better ways of working and achieve positive outcomes for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop data solutions using Azure Data Services, Spark, and Python
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to produce testable, maintainable, and high-quality data solutions
  • Support the migration of existing legacy solutions onto our strategic data platform
  • Contribute to the adoption of a standard data solution methodology across the organization

Requirements
  • Extensive and demonstrable technical knowledge in key areas such as Azure Data Services, Spark, and Python, Data Pipelines, and DevOps
  • Experience in designing and developing data solutions using Azure Data Services, Spark, and Python
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lead with an agile approach and embrace change
