Accountant Opportunity in Pontefract

A well-established Accountancy Practice in Pontefract is seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to join their team. With a strong presence in the local area, the firm has a great reputation and is highly regarded by clients.

As a Semi Senior Practice Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall financial health of clients' businesses. Your precision and expertise will contribute to delivering reliable financial insights and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of accounts for small businesses, sole traders, and limited companies
  • Preparation of VAT, corporation, and personal tax returns
  • Advising and resolving queries for a portfolio of clients
  • Managing and processing client payroll

Requirements:

  • Preferably fully qualified or studying ACCA/AAT
  • Proven experience working within a Practice environment
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. SAGE, QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Excel
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
