About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Trades Lecturer to join our 14-16 Alternative Provision at Bradford College. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and contribute to the college's mission to transform lives through education and training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach on Construction trade courses specified by the Curriculum Team Leader, Curriculum Area manager or the Head of Department for 14-16 within the college.
  • Participate actively in the development of the curriculum.
  • Enrol, induct, monitor, profile, and assess students on college courses either in the community or on the college sites.
  • Devise individual learning plans and provide support for learners to drive their progress in learning, and to meet/exceed their targets and enable them to reach their career goals.
  • Be responsible for students' academic progress, wellbeing, positive behaviour, and careers throughout their learning journey.
  • Seek out and respond to the student voice – seeing students as primary stakeholders in their learning.
  • Supervise and manage students on placements and offsite visits and activities where appropriate.
  • Implement and promote College regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Undertake invigilation duties as required.
  • Participate actively in the maintenance and promotion of close links with employers and training agencies.
  • Provide appropriate information to parents/employers through college reporting systems and open evenings.
  • Assist the departmental management team with costings and control of materials and equipment when specified.
  • Undertake additional duties that may be required commensurate with the level of responsibility of the post.
Requirements

  • GCSE A*- C or nationally recognised level 2 qualification in Maths or equivalent.

  • Relevant Teaching Qualification (Cert Ed/PSET).
  • A Level 3 qualification in a related area.
  • Experience of successful teaching/training and the evidence of performance/data to support it.
  • Experience of high-quality teaching within a school/FE environment or equivalent related industrial experience.
  • Experience of the effective design and delivery of high-quality inclusive teaching and learning activities.
  • Up to date knowledge of content and methods of teaching and/or supporting learning including the value and use of learning technologies.
  • A comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of a relevant subject area.
  • Experience of improving the learning environment, teaching, and/or assessment and feedback methods.
  • Experience of student pastoral care and disciplinary procedures.
