We are seeking an exceptional Psychologist to join our team at the University of Stirling. As a leading institution in the field of autism research, we are committed to delivering high-quality education and research that makes a positive impact on society.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to our research and teaching activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating our MSc in Autism Research and supervising undergraduate and MSc dissertations in this area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in individual and collaborative research, aligning with the University's strategic direction, and disseminate results through regular publication in high-impact journals, books, and conference proceedings.
  • Identify and secure funding opportunities, prepare research proposals, and manage grants awarded.
  • Supervise research students, providing direction, support, and guidance.
  • Participate in international engagement activities, delivering teaching, contributing to joint programs, and recruiting students.
  • Develop and maintain networks and collaborations within and outside the Division, Faculty, and University.
  • Contribute to administrative processes, including committee membership, quality assurance procedures, and student recruitment and admission.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD in a relevant discipline or close to completion.
  • Evidence of a developing publication record.
  • Credible plans for securing external research funding.
  • Experience or knowledge in designing, teaching, and assessing modules in the subject area.
  • Evidence of excellent teaching and supervision skills at the postgraduate level.
Desirable Criteria

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

  • A Higher Education teaching qualification or equivalent.
  • Evidence of success in attracting research grants and delivering on externally funded research projects.
  • Experience in supervising dissertations and research projects.
  • A broad understanding of effective approaches to teaching and learning support.
  • Evidence of international activities.
