Role Overview

As part of our strategic workforce planning, we are looking for qualified candidates to fill several Automation Engineering Specialist roles within our Engineering Department. This position is crucial for providing expert engineering support to our manufacturing processes.

In this capacity, you will play a vital role in our operations, addressing plant malfunctions and troubleshooting issues to restore production efficiency. Your responsibilities will also encompass design enhancements, software updates, and optimizations of plant machinery while complying with established software management protocols.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Background: Completion of a time-served apprenticeship and attainment of HNC level or higher in Electrical, Electronic, or Instrumentation engineering.
  • Professional Experience: Substantial experience in a comparable role within a manufacturing setting.
  • Essential Skills:
    • Proficiency with Allen Bradley Control/Compact Logix or Siemens S7 PLCs is mandatory.
    • Experience with AC or DC inverter drives, including troubleshooting, commissioning, and programming.
    • Knowledge of instrumentation, including maintenance and troubleshooting of control loops.
    • Familiarity with SCADA and HMI development.
    • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Capacity to work independently.
    • Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
