Job Title: Advanced Practitioner Therapeutic Radiographer - Pre-Treatment Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Radiographer to join our Pre-Treatment team at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing radiotherapy delivery to a high standard, promoting best practice, and streamlining the patient pathway.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be accountable for own professional actions and recognized as an expert team leader in radiotherapy pre-treatment.
  • Be responsible for the acquisition of high-quality pre-treatment images, while minimizing patient dose.
  • Assess and manipulate images, requiring knowledge and ability to interpret between numerous imaging modalities.
  • Initiate changes based on judgments and report these to the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure accurate tumour delineation and targeting.

Requirements:

  • Experience in radiotherapy pre-treatment and a strong understanding of the pre-treatment process for both photon and proton planning.
  • Ability to administer intravenous injections, MRI scanning, and advance practice in radiographer-led services such as breast simulation.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
