Key Responsibilities:
As a skilled Legal Assistant, you will deliver essential administrative support to legal professionals within the department. Your duties will include:
- Facilitating the efficient exchange of documents and communications within the team.
- Accurately typing various documents from handwritten notes or digital dictation.
- Managing the scanning, emailing, and faxing of important correspondence and documents as needed.
- Overseeing file management tasks, including the initiation and closure of files, photocopying, and organizing all pertinent documents.
- Handling incoming calls, directing them appropriately, and taking messages when necessary.
- Coordinating the schedules of legal professionals, arranging both internal and external meetings.
- Assisting fellow team members in their responsibilities as required.
Qualifications for Success:
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
- Prior experience as a legal assistant, with a strong understanding of confidentiality requirements.
- A meticulous, organized, and conscientious work ethic.
- The ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines while effectively managing time and priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong literacy and numeracy capabilities.
- Proficiency in IT, including MS Office and legal software.
