Job Overview

The Tax and Financial Accounting division operates on a global scale, tasked with the meticulous preparation and submission of both direct and indirect tax filings, as well as statutory account submissions and treasury back office operations. This position is pivotal in ensuring exceptional service delivery that aligns with established timelines.

It is imperative to adhere to all organizational policies and execute responsibilities within designated timeframes while maintaining a superior level of service for all Informa clients and team members. Informa prioritizes the security and confidentiality of company, colleague, and customer information, and you will be expected to uphold these standards in your role.

Key Responsibilities:

The Accountant will be expected to undertake a variety of key responsibilities, along with any other reasonable tasks as required:

  • Support the accounting and reconciliation processes for share schemes.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns to a high standard, adhering to the established timetable, including both domestic and international VAT returns.
  • Compile and submit EC Sales lists.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on all relevant inquiries.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations to a high standard and within deadlines.
  • Prepare the annual PSA return.
  • Review total tax contributions for both direct and indirect taxes.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of corporation tax and withholding tax returns.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of general ledger codes for tax return purposes.
  • Assist in obtaining certificates of residence from tax authorities.
  • Draft statutory accounts with clear and organized working files.
  • Assist with iXBRL tagging of statutory accounts.
  • Support the posting, reporting, and other tasks related to dormant and non-trading entities.
  • Prepare and review National Statistic returns.
  • Assist in reviewing the work of Assistant Accountants as necessary.
  • Contribute to daily and monthly treasury back office processes.
  • Monitor team inboxes and respond promptly to VAT, financial compliance, and withholding tax inquiries.
  • Assist with system testing for VAT rule changes and establishing new VAT registrations globally.
  • Prepare information for internal and external stakeholders on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Participate in various project work as required.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Comprehensive understanding of Shared Service Centre processes and their integration into the broader environment.
  • Solid grasp of Tax and Financial Accounting best practices, including people, processes, and technology.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and priorities effectively while delivering high-quality work and supporting junior team members.
  • Demonstrated decision-making capabilities based on available information.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, fostering good relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential.
  • Maintain approachability under pressure.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Capability to handle a variety of related tasks.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Strong time management skills.

Qualifications:

  • Strong academic background, preferably with an Accounting degree.
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
