About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to join our team as an Apprentice Management Officer. This role will provide clinical support to the pupils of Chailey Heritage School and a large number of outpatients referred from local services who cannot meet these clients' needs.

The Rehabilitation Engineering Service has a large in-house manufacturing workshop, and this post is situated within a specialist predominantly paediatric rehabilitation engineering service. The client group currently served have severe and complex physical disabilities and therefore require bespoke assistive technology (AT) solutions in order to undertake activities of daily living.

Main Responsibilities
  1. To identify and work with the Management team in the development of processes relating to the stores and to take responsibility for ensuring the stock levels within stores are maintained at an operational level and are of an acceptable quality.
  2. To implement existing processes for stock control, stock inspection, ordering, and receipt of goods.
Requirements
  • GCSE 5/6 Maths, English, & IT/ Sciences and A Levels or BTec Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare science, Information Technology, or other technical subjects.
  • Training in Technology/engineering apprenticeship at level 3.
Technical Experience
  • Information Technology/digital literacy skills in a stores or equivalent role.
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures, particularly those applying to workshops.
  • Appreciation of the importance of quality standards and procedures.
  • Practical experience including working with tools and a flexible approach to undertaking a range of different tasks at short notice to contribute to the efficient running of the workshop.
  • Experience of working in an engineering machine shop & stores environment.
  • Some practical ability in basic assembly and simple tool use.
  • Experience of working within a quality system.
  • Knowledge of a variety of materials, such as foam, metals, and plastics.
Other Requirements
  • Flexible approach to undertaking a range of different tasks at short notice to contribute to the efficient running of the workshop.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to drive the works vehicle/van.
  • Comfortable working (or being in an environment) with people with disabilities.
