Nottinghamshire County Council is looking for a dedicated individual to fill the role of Policy and Research Officer. This position presents a unique opportunity to assist Senior Leaders and Elected Members in making informed, evidence-based decisions aligned with the Council's strategic goals.

As part of the central Strategic Insight Unit, your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Assisting in the formulation and evaluation of Council strategies and policies, including the Council Plan and Annual Delivery Planning, along with their associated assurance mechanisms.
  • Conducting tailored qualitative and quantitative research to enhance understanding of local and national policies, as well as innovative practices.
  • Facilitating public consultations when necessary, ensuring that resident feedback is integrated into the Council's overarching objectives.
  • Fostering positive collaborative relationships with colleagues across various Departments and partner organizations.
  • Identifying opportunities for transformation and departmental enhancements that lead to improved service delivery and operational efficiency.

We seek a proactive professional with a solid grasp of political frameworks. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a high level of organization. A good understanding of data sources and the capability to analyze and interpret complex information is essential.
