CV Library is seeking an experienced Laboratory Chemist & Environmental Lead to join our team in a dynamic and challenging role.

Main Responsibilities
  1. To conduct thorough testing of products, in-process liquors, and raw materials to ensure they meet the required quality standards, while adhering to safety and security protocols.
  2. To lead new product introduction projects, driving innovation and ensuring seamless integration into our operations.
  3. To develop and implement effective environmental controls and improvements across the business, with a focus on achieving ISO accreditation.
Main Duties
  1. Manage and maintain quality control systems, including data recording, analysis, and decision-making, in line with ISO 9001 standards.
  2. Ensure accurate and timely recording of test results and storage of data within our system.
  3. Procure and maintain stocks of necessary materials and equipment.
  4. Review and enter quality data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  5. Monitor and analyze analytical results and FPY data to inform business decisions.
  6. Develop and implement environmental strategies, aligning with business objectives and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  7. Establish and maintain a robust environmental culture throughout the organization.
  8. Attend and chair relevant meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  9. Prepare and calibrate chemical standards, ensuring accuracy and precision.
  10. Conduct regular equipment checks and maintenance, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  11. Complete analytical tests prior to product release, ensuring quality and consistency.
  12. Provide quality results updates at regular communications meetings.
  13. Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it remains in good working order.
  14. Manage and maintain the results database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  15. Store and maintain retained analytical samples, adhering to regulatory requirements.
  16. Record and store data, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  17. Develop and maintain a robust environmental management system, ensuring compliance with ISO standards.
  18. Support the Lead Auditor and Customer Services team in maintaining the ARF system and administering weekly SHEQ meetings.
  19. Contribute to improvement projects, driving business growth and excellence.

Our normal working hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work between 6:30 am and 9:00 pm as required by the business, with a minimum of 7.5 hours per day and a 30-minute unpaid break.
