Job Title: Stress FEA Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Stress FEA Engineer to join our Engineering Analysis Team at AWE plc. As a Stress FEA Engineer, you will be responsible for performing complex structural analysis tasks using finite element analysis (FEA) tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, and LS-DYNA.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects at all stages of the weapon's life cycle, from design and manufacture to transport, operation, and decommissioning. You will be part of a world-class, multi-disciplinary team of thermal, structural, and blast analysis engineers who provide modelling and simulation expertise to AWE.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex structural analysis tasks using FEA tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, and LS-DYNA.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality finite element models and simulations.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and analysts to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and analysts.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest FEA tools and techniques.
Requirements
  • Strong degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience with using FEA tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, and LS-DYNA.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority-changing environment.
  • Initiative, enthusiasm, and a flexible approach.
