About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic school communities in Barnsley and Sheffield. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting and inspiring young learners during their critical years.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support classroom teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons that meet the needs of individual students and small groups
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with additional learning needs, including those with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and resources
  • Support students during activities, projects, and interventions to enhance their learning experience
  • Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to participate
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers, parents, and other stakeholders
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education and support
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or Level 3) or equivalent
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably in Key Stage 2
  • Strong understanding of SEN and strategies to support students with diverse needs
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children and supporting their learning and development
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, with a proactive and positive attitude
